What is an Anaerobic Digester?

Converting waste and disposal problems into energy and resources

• Anaerobic digestion is a biological process that produces a gas principally composed of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) otherwise known as biogas. We then reduce the C02 and increase the energy of the gas.

• Anaerobic processes could either occur naturally such as digestive tracts of animals or in a controlled environment such as a biogas plant (digester)

• These gases are produced using anaerobes to break down organic wastes such as food processing waste, livestock manure, and organic based sludge
